About Scott

Scott McLaughlin, partner and head of equities at William Blair, leads a business with over 200 teammates in six offices in North America and Europe responsible for institutional sales, trading, and research. Based in New York City, he joined William Blair in January 2022 and brought over 25 years of experience. Before joining William Blair, he spent 18 years heading equities teams at Truist Securities, Lazard Capital Markets, and WR Hambrecht.

Scott earned his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and his undergraduate degree in finance from Syracuse University. Scott resides in Darien, Connecticut, with his wife and two children.
