About Tony

Tony, vice president, wealth advisor, joined Private Wealth Management in 2013. Supported by the firm’s equity research and wealth planning services, he, together with Loui Marver and Tom Marx, shares responsibility for research, financial planning, strategic asset allocation, and client service. Tony works with a number of William Blair’s ancillary services, including the firm’s open-architecture platform, which provides additional support and diversified investment opportunities to clients.

Tony graduated from Stanford University with a degree in economics. While attending Stanford, he played four years for the Cardinal baseball team, including two trips to the College World Series. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals with whom he made his Major League debut in 2001 on opening day in Yankee Stadium against the defending World Series Champion Yankees. Tony’s professional playing career spanned 10 years, during which he played in the majors, the minors, and internationally in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Before joining William Blair, Tony worked several years for a Chicago-based healthcare strategy company. There, he worked with hospital leadership to conduct comprehensive reviews and develop hospital and healthcare system growth strategies. Tony’s educational background in economics, combined with his work and life experience, serve him well in supporting and servicing the team’s clients.

Tony lives in Glencoe with his wife and their son and two daughters. He serves as chairman of the board of the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago. Tony also works with fellow MLB alumni as a coach at local youth baseball clinics.
