About Bruce
Bruce Whelihan, managing director, is a wealth advisor with William Blair’s Private Wealth Management group, serving clients in the Washington, D.C. area and beyond. He has more than 40 years of experience working with individuals and institutional investors. Bruce focuses on providing comprehensive investment and wealth management solutions for his clients. He consults and supports a broad range of clients using William Blair’s equity research, outside managers, and alternatives as well as introducing additional resources to expand their investment opportunities. Bruce joined Alex. Brown in 1976 and was with Brown Advisory before transitioning to William Blair. He was a commercial banker in New York before moving to Washington to work in the White House during the Nixon administration.
Bruce has his M.B.A. from Wharton School and his B.A. from Washington and Lee University.
He is a finance committee member of Tudor Place Historic House and Gardens.
