About Dick

Dick Gottfred manages growth portfolios for individuals, trusts, retirement plans, and corporations, primarily on a discretionary basis. He served as the manager of the Private Client Advisors group and on the firm’s Executive Committee from 1999–2002. During his tenure, he initiated the Model Portfolio Committee, which he chaired. Prior to joining William Blair, he spent three years at Bacon Whipple & Company. He has chaired various boards at the Glenview Community Church, including serving as moderator for three years. He has also co-founded the LEAP Learning Systems, which helps inner city youth.

Dick joined William Blair in 1973.
