About Jason

Jason Stefanelli is responsible for business development, consultant relations, and client servicing across all institutional market segments for William Blair in Canada.

Before joining the firm in 2017, Jason was director of global pensions at Cambridge Associates, LLC, where he provided strategic, unbiased investment advisory solutions, manager research, and OCIO services to meet the varying needs of institutional pension clients and nonprofit institutions. Before that, Jason was a partner at a premier U.S. hedge fund that specialized in long/short fundamental equity strategies, where he was responsible for investor relations efforts in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Additionally, as a member of the firm’s senior management team, he provided ongoing strategic leadership that informed, steered, and executed the firm’s vision and business and investment strategy. Before that, Jason was vice president of business development at Wellington Management Company, LLP, where he managed the firm’s Canadian business and client relationships from 2003 to 2008. Jason began his institutional investment management career at State Street Global Advisors in Toronto, where he was responsible for consultant relations and client service.

Jason holds memberships/certifications from the New England-Canada Business Council (NECBC), FINRA, Canadian Securities Institute, Treasury Management Association of Canada (TMAC), and the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM). Jason was also previously treasurer for the Regional Canadian Pensions and Benefits Institute (CPBI) in Ontario. He received a B.S. in business administration and finance from Algonquin College of Applied Arts & Technology and completed the executive program for “Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy” at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
