About Art
Art Paterson, managing director, is a wealth advisor in William Blair’s Private Wealth Management group and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Art concentrates on serving the unique wealth management needs of business owners and corporate executives —a dynamic group that often faces sophisticated and competing financial demands as they balance professional and personal commitments and goals. He specializes in helping his clients analyze the financial impact of life’s transitions, such as the sale of a business, a merger or acquisition, a new job or retirement. His focus is on developing custom tailored strategies for clients, their families, and their businesses to help them pursue short- and long-term financial goals.
Before joining William Blair in 2017, Art was a first vice president in Global Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch, where he spent 14 years.
Art graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in marketing. Some of his hobbies include coaching youth sports, playing golf and competing in Ironman triathlons.
