2019 was an exceptionally strong year for William Blair’s global investment banking franchise and our European team, specifically in the Benelux, as we continued to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients across all sectors.

"Given what a priority Benelux is to us as a firm, particularly the financial sponsor community, we were delighted to welcome Maarten Meurs to the firm in May, providing a consistent local presence in the region as we opened our new Amsterdam office," said Anu Sharma, Managing Director and Head of European Investment Banking.

Over the year we saw increased deal flow, with 11 deals being closed in the Benelux, more than any other year to date. We continued to see strong interest from strategic buyers, allowing us to leverage our global network to bring added value to our European client base. Deal flow was seen across all sectors including Services & Industrials, Healthcare, Technology, and Consumer & Retail.

The expansion of our European sponsor coverage team has enhanced our ability to provide world-class service, industry insight, and a truly global perspective for the opportunities facing our clients.
