Christina Bresani, the head of William Blair’s financial services investment banking, has been named to Mergers & Acquisitions magazine’s 2018 list of the “Most Influential Women in M&A.”

Over the course of her nearly 20-year career, Bresani has completed more than 70 transactions with an aggregate transaction value in excess of $175 billion. She has completed industry-shaping transactions involving private and publicly traded companies across the financial services industry, including Chicago Board Options Exchange’s $3.4 billion acquisition of Bats Global Markets, TIAA’s $2.5 billion acquisition of EverBank Financial, and First Horizon National Corp.’s $2.2 billion acquisition of Capital Bank Financial Corp.

“It’s an honor to be included as part of this group of incredibly accomplished dealmakers,” said Bresani, who joined William Blair in 2017 from UBS. “These professionals are proof that although challenges remain in improving diversity in the industry, an increasing number of women across the M&A ecosystem are playing vital roles in the transactions that are defining their sectors.”
