Jack Blomfield, a William Blair partner and a managing director in the firm’s London office, was named to Financial News' Rising Stars of Investment Banking list published July 18.
The list honors the top 25 up-and-coming investment bankers under the age of 40 serving the UK and European markets.
Blomfield, who joined William Blair in 2010 as an analyst, helps lead coverage of the services sector in Europe, originating and executing M&A transactions.
In January, he became one of the youngest bankers to become a partner of William Blair, a global team of leading dealmakers. Blomfield has been integral to the expansion of the firm’s investment banking presence in Europe, a team that has grown to 110 bankers in the last year.
“Jack’s achievements spotlight his commitment to the team and inspiring others to deliver results for our growing client base in the UK and Europe,” said Anu Sharma, head of European banking for William Blair. “This recognition is well deserved and underscores William Blair’s holistic approach to serving clients across regions and sectors.”
Blomfield was part of the team that delivered 145% growth in European M&A revenue for the firm in 2021, taking the lead on deals including Blackstone’s investment in Currencies Direct and the sale of Kantar’s Reputation Intelligence business to Symphony Technology Group.
He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham with a degree in economics and politics.
